Artemis by Andy Weir

Artemis is an interesting piece of space fiction. It carries the same humor and drama that Weir’s The Martian graced us with. But unlike The MartianArtemis is not quite so much about the “hard” science. Despite that being what he’s known for — and despite the plausible accuracy of moon colonies and FOM — it just doesn’t carry the same weight as its predecessor.

Ultimately, I liked The Martian better but the storyline and character development in Artemis are really great. It’s not too long and only some parts seem a touch extra. It’s also a plus that the main character is a (sort of) normal woman. She’s strong and relatable without being overdone or overly sexualized.

If you’re just looking for a fun read, it’s definitely one I’d recommend.
